A long long time ago, in a movie world far far away… In 1984 werd Ghostbusters in een klap een megahit, Ghostbusters 2 was ‘more of the same’ met meer slijm en vond ik persoonlijk een megaflop.

Het ziet er zowaar nu naar uit dat er een Ghostbusters 3 in de maak is, en dan ook nog in (computer) geanimeerde vorm. Dit bericht wordt gestaafd door niemand minder dan Dan Acroyd in een interview op CISN fm;

“Ghostbusters 3 lives today. A year ago it didn’t.”

“I wrote a script called Hell Bent, Ghostbusters go to hell basically. The premise is that it’s Manhellton. There’s Manhattan and ManHELLton. Welnu Ghostbusters in de hell, wat een geinig concept. Ik hoop dat ze deze niet verkloten. Na de ‘childhood memory shattering reruns’ van Knight Rider en the A-Team zou ‘t zonde zijn dat deze herinnering mij ook bruut zou worden afgenomen.

M’n linux desktop draait weer… wat een verademing. Ubunty Feisty Fawn met beryl op een ouwe P4 2.5 GHz met een Geforce mx4.

Gisteravond van een ouwe Edgy naar Feisty gegaan, toe b0rkte beryl, wilde de decorator niet meer opstarten, heel X deed ffkes niks meer. Vanochtend een update van X.org en voila, alles draait nu nog soepeler dan ooit tevoren. Dat krijg je als je pre-releases draait.

2 maanden nadat ik m’n Macbook in gebruik heb genomen ging de hdd al dood, morte, fin. Afgelopen maandag fikte de disk van Flar ook al uit… goh, 2 dooie schijven in 6 maanden tijd, das wel erg toevallig.

Naast een dooie disk heb ik de volgende problemen met t kreng;

• numlock led is stuk
• mousebutton is ranzig
• backlight flikkert (lijkt op een TL buis die aan z’n eind is)
• bij wakker worden uit sleep-mode knispert dr wat noise uit de speakers
• verkleuring

Vandaag ingeleverd bij een Apple-dealer in de buurt, estimated repair time: 1 a 2 weken!

Het is duidelijk dat Apple geen zorg draag voor ‘early adopters’ door een vervangend systeem mee te geven. Apple bedankt voor jullie ranzige kuthardware en crappy repairtimes. Mijn volgende notebook wordt geen Apple meer. Te veel geld voor verschikkelijk slechte en onbetrouwbare te warm wordende hardware.
